The Gujarat State Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd. (GSCSC) is a wholly Government owned company, established under the Indian Companies Act – 1956, clause 617 vide Government resolution no. CSC/1180/1469/A Dt. 25/09/1980 passed by the Food and Civil Supplies Dept., Government of Gujarat.

  • Profit before tax of the GSCSC increased from Rs.5.65 crores in 2014-2015 to Rs.9.27 crores in the year 2015-2016, i.e. an increase of Rs.3.62 crores, i.e. profit increased by 64.07%.
  • Surplus generated by the GSCSC increased from Rs.50.65 crores in 2014-2015 to Rs.53.35 crores during the year 2015-2016, i.e. an increase of Rs.2.70 crores.
  • GSCSCL paid Rs.1.50 crores an Interim Dividend for the year 2016-17 to the Government of Gujarat.
  • In 2015-2016, as a result of the transparent and efficient e-procurement system Rs.39 crores of Government Subsidy was saved by GSCSC in procurement of Sugar for Public Distribution System.
  • Similarly while awarding the Transport Contract, GSCSC saved Rs.3.25 crores, as a result of the transparent and efficient e-tendering system.
  • GSCSC saved Rs.21 crores in the procurement of cement for Government works (Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd., Roads & Buildings Department, etc.) during the year 2015-2016.
  • Global Positing System (GPS) has been implemented in all transport trucks carrying foodgrains of the GSCSC to keep track of the movement of each truck.
  • In view of the forthcoming implementation of National Food Security Act (NFSA), planning has been done to more than DOUBLE the storage capacity of GSCSC from 2.86 lakhsMT (501 Godowns) to 5.82 lakhsMT (625 Godowns), with approval from Government for construction of 124 new Godowns. In this regards after continuous follow up with Collectors, land obtained at 40 locations for construction of 40 GSCSC Godowns and construction process started, which was pending for a longtime and in another 84 locations (which was sanctioned by Government on 27th March 2015), 63 lands already identified and constant follow-up with Collectors for allotment of land, in-progress.
  • Recruitment (through competitive exam conducted by Gujarat Technological University) and Appointment of 390 new employees of GSCSC successfully completed, which was pending for a longtime. After 1996, for the first time new employees have been recruited in GSCSC.
  • Online application has been invited for the 16 post of Class-II (Deputy Managers) and GTU will conducted examination for the same and thereafter recruitment/posting will be done.
  • Also as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, GSCSC Godowns Centres are being developed as Social Awareness Centres to help poor people (Labourers, Truck Drivers, Cleaners) to enrol for Pradhan Mantri Jandhan Yojana, Jivan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Suraksha Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, etc.). And also Godowns staff during their free time, spread awareness about Safe Driving & Road Safety and AIDS Control Programme.
